Tiomila I'm coming !!!
I'm applied to this AMAZING EVENT !!
The 10 Mila is the most popular Nordic orienteering race. It takes place in Sweden and draws 8,000 racers. The twist: the competition takes place at night... This annual event, at Roserberg Castle...
That's Tiomila on the 18-19 April with NTNUI in Sweden!!
Have you ever imagined yourself lost in a dark swedish forest in green, yellow and black colours as hundreds of people are stressing around you frenetically searching for a white and orange flag? Do you want to experience one of the most traditional norwegian outdoor sports in an extraordinary social trip?
Tiomila is a very spectacular and popular sport event in Sweden which is held annually in the end of April. It is an orienteering relay consisting of 5 runners in the womens class and 10 runners in the mens class. The courses are between 5 to 15 km.
This year it is located in a place called Perstorp which is a minor place in the southern part of Sweden called Skåne. We're going to travel by bus leaving Moholt night to friday. We’re leaving in buses from Moholt Thursday (16. April) night 24:00 and will be back around 7:00 in the morning Monday 20. April
Orienteering is a popular sport in Norway where the main object is to run a course exsisting of several control points in the forest marked on a map. This is a exciting task where both body and mind has to interact in a coordinated performance. But don't worry if you've never done anything like it before. Many of our teams consists of normal students with little or no experience, and they always find their way back from the forest (in some way or another :) ). We also hold beginner courses at wednesdsays in front of the trip so you can get a little bit prepared and learn the basic skills.
Look at this as a great opportunity to experience something really norwegian. This sport is the second largest individual summer sport in Norway and is something truly nordic. Tiomila gathers over 7000 participants to a big feast of joyful people. It is the one event to go to if you want to try out this crazy sport.
NTNUI has a long tradition taking part in Tiomila and has been the largest organization at this giant event the last years. This year we will be around 150 people heading south, colouring the whole arena in our own green, yellow and black colours and making the event even better. We're even bringing our own little brazz band, barbeque-wagon and music and speaker service. And don't forget to chill out in our mobile sauna tent after finishing your course. Because for us this is not only a sport event, it is also a big social event. Culminating for many of us at the "party bus" turning home celebrating that everybody has come back from their forest adventures..
Last year the international students participated with a mixed team in the mens relay and they thought it was an amazing weekendtrip consisting of unforgettable experiences. We're hoping to participate with at least one international team this year as well, maybe even more.

Goodbye Therese..
Therese one of my norwegian friend made a goodbye party, because she leave The Cold Norway to go to Philippine for a wealth-care child program. She will be away for 6 weeks !! GOODBYE Therese the party was AMAZING !
